The University of Abuja has conducted an orientation programme for more than 700 trainees freshly admitted into the IJMB and Restorative programmes for the 2025/2026 scholastic session.

In a declaration released by the institution, the University stated the exercise was organised by its School of Advanced Basic and Remedial Research studies to prepare the trainees for academic life and guide them on crucial expectations within the University community.

The Vice-Chancellor, Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, who was represented by the Dean of Trainees Affairs, Simon Malang Kawe, urged the trainees to stay disciplined and concentrated on their academic objectives.

“Admission into the University’s main programs will depend on meeting the needed scholastic requirements,” he said, motivating the trainees to stay dedicated to their studies.

Earlier, the Performing Director of the School, Angela Oboh, explained that the orientation programme was developed to assist students on crucial problems that would impact their stay within the University.

“The orientation was organised to direct students on crucial concerns impacting their stay within the University neighborhood,” she specified.

According to the University, the event brought together staff members from important systems of the institution to engage the trainees in discussions targeted at promoting discipline, awareness, and scholastic quality.

The highlight of the program was a keynote lecture titled “The Influence of Peer Group Pressure on the Nigerian Child,” provided by Otaki Osana Alanana of the Department of Sociology.
