
The Benue State Government has actually evacuated its indigenes studying at University of Jos following intensifying security concerns in Jos.
The precautionary relocation comes in the middle of current violence and increasing stress in parts of Plateau State, prompting authorities to prioritise the security of trainees.
Federal government officials divulged that buses were released to assist in the safe transport of the trainees back to Benue State.
According to the state federal government, the evacuation is a proactive action targeted at securing lives as the security scenario in the affected areas stays uncertain.
“The evacuation was performed to ensure the safety of our students as tensions persist. Their well-being remains our leading concern,” the federal government mentioned.
