IBADAN, OYO– A 58-year-old part-time teacher, Olubunmi Adebayo, was arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Friday for alleged misconduct and disruptive behavior following her termination by school management.

The defendant deals with a one-count charge of conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace. She pleaded not guilty to the charge during her official reading before the bench.

Refusal to Abandon Property After Disciplinary Termination

The prosecution counsel, Inspector Olagoke Adegbenro, informed the court that the occurrence happened on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at around 5:50 p.m. within the properties of the Smart School situated in the Ido city government area of Ibadan.

According to the cops manifest, the management of the private organization had officially terminated Ms. Adebayo’s part-time employment agreement due to unresolved internal administrative problems.

Following the statement of her dismissal, the offender presumably tossed a major tantrum, creating an outcry, yelling at school officials, and flatly declining to vacate the academic premises.

The commotion supposedly interfered with after-school administrative activities, forcing the school authorities to hire police operatives to restore order.

The district attorney maintained that her actions straight broke Area 249(d) of the Bad Guy Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Judicial Bail Metrics and Subsequent Adjournment

Following her non-guilty plea, the administering magistrate, Mr. Olasinmibo Sanusi, assessed the application for bail submitted by the defense counsel.

Magistrate Sanusi confessed the defendant to bail in the amount of 50,000, with one surety in like amount.

The court included a rigorous verification clause, directing that the carrying out surety must be a confirmed blood relation of the offender.

The matter was consequently adjourned until Tuesday, July 14, 2026, for formal mention.
