
LAGOS, NIGERIA– Following months of rigorous intellectual brief-writing and extreme courtroom simulation, the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has actually become the winner of the maiden Streamsowers & Köhn (SSK) Moot Court Competition.
The grand finale, which happened on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Lagos, saw OAU go head-to-head in an oral advocacy battle against Bayero University, Kano (BUK).
The competitors was arranged by the full-service law firm, Streamsowers & Köhn, as a landmark Business Social Duty (CSR) initiative to commemorate its 20th anniversary by investing greatly in the expert grooming of Nigerian student-lawyers.
Blind Assessments Trim 17 Law Faculties
The nationwide competition began months ago with 17 universities drawn from Nigeria’s 6 geopolitical zones sending detailed written memorials on complex, multi-layered problems in law.
To guarantee outright openness and meritocracy, senior law speakers from various universities worked as independent assessors utilizing a rigorous blind review procedure.

High-Stakes Oral Advocacy Before Real Judges
The grand ending transitioned from composed arguments to live courtroom theatrics. OAU’s lead counsel team, making up Ase Hephzibah Adiamologi and Olawole Olamilekan Ogidan, participated in a fierce legal battle versus BUK’s legal group, Isah Garba Bala and Farouk Sani Gwarzo.
