The German federal government has actually revealed a major modification in its trainee visa application procedure in Nigeria, moving all submissions to a dedicated visa application centre in Lagos.
In a notification released on Tuesday, the German Embassy in Nigeria confirmed that potential students will no longer send visa applications at the consulate. Rather, applicants will be processed through the VFS Global centre located in Lekki, Lagos.
According to the embassy, candidates who successfully protect a consultation online will be welcomed directly to the visa application centre.
“This suggests that you will be invited to the centre, not the consulate, when a consultation is designated to you after registering online,” the embassy mentioned.

The embassy even more advised candidates to speak with the VFS Worldwide site for detailed guidance on the upgraded application procedures.
Under the new system, the Lekki centre will deal with file submission, biometric information collection, and other associated services on behalf of German missions in Nigeria, a relocation expected to simplify the procedure for countless Nigerian students looking for education opportunities abroad.
