The Federal government, in partnership with the UNESCO International Institute for Capability Building in Africa (UNESCO-IICBA) and the Pan African University (PAU), has actually introduced a mobile learning effort targeted at enhancing instructor expert development across Africa.
The initiative was revealed on Monday at the opening of a three-day Master Training Programme in Abuja, themed “Empowering Female Educators and School Leaders through Integrating Mobile-based Learning in the Pan-African Virtual and Electronic University (PAVEU) Initiative.” The programme will run from July 21 to 23, 2026.
According to a statement released by the Federal Ministry of Education, the job is moneyed by the Government of Japan and targets five African countries– Algeria, Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria and South Sudan.
The ministry stated the effort seeks to expand access to quality constant professional advancement, particularly for female teachers and school leaders, through flexible, technology-driven learning platforms.
The programme leverages mobile technology to attend to challenges such as time constraints, geographical barriers and inadequate facilities, enabling teachers to access knowing resources anytime and anywhere through a low-data, offline-friendly platform.
The Ministry of Education reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to enhancing instructor quality through digital development.
It kept in mind that available expert advancement is critical to reinforcing learning outcomes and building a durable, inclusive and future-ready education system.
