At the heart of the job is a training and recruitment program that will occur in Gliwice, Poland. Participants will go to 3 steel plants, a steel research institute, and a metallurgy museum, and, for instance, talk about profession pathways in the steel industry in working groups. The focus will be on obstacles such as the lack of skilled employees, changes produced by digitalization, and the market’s image. In addition, the job partners will assess the existing state of technology development, present de-carbonization circumstances, and evaluation existing recruitment and certification activities.

Linking social and technological developments

The sfs group– Antonius Schröder, Adrian Götting, and Beata Lewandowska– will assess the job’s recruitment and qualification activities, supply clinical support for the training programs, and establish techniques to enhance recruitment in the steel sector.

SUPER is funded by the EU for two years, coordinated by VDEh Betriebsforschungsinstitut GmbH Düsseldorf (BFI), and executed in cooperation with 6 partner organizations and one associated partner. The results are meant to help form European techniques for a socially and ecologically sustainable industry.
