ABUJA, Nigeria– The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Alhaja Hulayat Omidiran, has vowed the full assistance of the commission to Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, as the institution prepares to host the 2028 Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) games.
Ms Omidiran revealed the dedication on Thursday at the commission’s head office in Abuja while receiving a delegation of the university’s primary officers, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed.
Hosting Rights and Facilities Upgrade
Congratulating the university management on protecting the official hosting rights for the 29th edition of the biennial sporting event, subject to the formal execution of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), Ms Omidiran highlighted the significance of the accomplishment.
The 2028 games will mark the return of the NUGA video games to ABU Zaria for the first time given that 2001.

She likewise lauded the Federal Government’s classification of ABU as one of Nigeria’s nationwide sports centres of quality, a status accompanied by strategic strategies to update and modernise the university’s sporting facilities.
