The Senate of Federal University Dutse, FUD, Jigawa State, has approved 5 new degree programs under the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. The relocation provides trainees more study alternatives in
health-related fields. The details came through the university’s weekly newsletter released on 11 May 2026.
Tabulation New Degree Programmes Approved by FUD The freshly authorized programs cut across neighborhood health, lab science, nutrition, therapy and radiography. Each course falls under the Professors of Basic Medical Sciences.

Why FUD Added the Programmes
The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Dutse, Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel, applauded the Professors of Basic Medical Sciences for beginning the process that led to the approval.
He stated the new courses would support the university’s MBBS programme and develop more scholastic openings for prospective students who wish to study health-related courses. That link with MBBS gives the faculty a more comprehensive health training base.
Faculty Capability and Assistance
Teacher Gumel expressed confidence that the faculty might run the brand-new programmes well. He pointed to enhanced workforce after 13 PhD holders recently returned from their studies.
He also said neighborhoods need experts in these medical and healthcare fields. The university management, according to him, will keep giving the needed support for the programs to succeed.
