What do you like the majority of about your job?

Just the impact that we have on students’ lives– I believe that’s the most crucial thing. We’re able to bring in trainees and affect their lives in a favorable way. I think that’s what keeps me going.

What’s a piece of work you take pride in– and what did it teach you?

I take pride in Masters’ Union and our Intersect conference. We’re working to bridge the industry-academy gap. We began with simply 50 people, and now we have 150 delegates from 16 nations. I think that’s what I take pride in.

What’s a small daily habit that helps you in your work?

Spirituality. I’m an extremely spiritual person, I enjoy mindfulness, and that’s what keeps me around here.

What’s one modification you want to see in your sector over the next couple of years?

More hands-on knowing! That’s it, that’s the future.

What concept, book, podcast or discussion has stuck with you just recently?

Amusing Ourselves to Death is a 1985 book by Neil Postman. Everybody ought to check out that book.

What’s one piece of recommendations you ‘d give to someone starting in this field?

Be disruptive, not conventional. That’s what needs to be done. Conventional methods are already outdated.
