IKIRUN, OSUN STATE– The academic landscape of Osun State saw a historic turning point today, April 30, 2026, as Minaret University, Ikirun, celebrated its maiden admission event.
The event marked the official induction of the institution’s pioneer mate of trainees, signalling the formal start of scholastic activities at the freshly developed citadel of learning.
The ceremony, held at the university’s long-term site, drew a prominent event of academics, traditional rulers, and instructional stakeholders eager to witness the birth of a new age in private higher education.
A Promise of Quality and Discipline
Commanding the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdur-Rahman Oladele Abdullah, advised the matriculants that the oath they took was a binding contract between them and the institution.
He emphasised that Minaret University was founded on the double pillars of strenuous academic query and uncompromising moral character.
“This admission represents more than simply a formal registration; it is a promise of the university’s commitment to fostering academic quality and ethical discipline,” Prof. Abdullah stated throughout his address.
A significant highlight of the day was the official inauguration of the Moms and dads Consultative Assembly (PCA) by the University Chancellor, Barrister Azeez Folorunso Alatoye.
