Launched at the TED conference in Vancouver last month, the new Khan TED Institute was developed in partnership with the similarity Google, Microsoft and Accenture to ensure “deep relevance with the rapidly changing nature of work” said ETS.
The model leverages AI to provide remote undergraduate degrees at $10,000, with establishing partners promising to broaden access to knowing pathways and AI education, without losing website of the human abilities needed in employment.
“The partners see the Khan TED Institute as an enhance and alternative, designed for students who want a different path– one that is more cost effective, globally available, and carefully aligned with the modern-day labor force,” ETS CEO Amit Sevak informed The PIE News.
He stressed the institute would be a “brand-new addition to the environment of higher education, not a replacement”.
Alongside those who can’t access or manage traditional university education, the brand-new program is targeted at those with existing qualifications who want to re-skill in the AI age and supplement their education.
With applications set to open in 12 to 18 months, potential students are presently being invited to reveal their interest to learn more, with educators, corporate firms and benefactors also motivated to connect.
“For almost 40 years, TED has been linking individuals with powerful ideas– and at the same time, quietly informing millions,” stated TED CEO Logan McClure Davda, emphasising the need for discovering to equal the AI era.

The inaugural program will be a bachelor’s degree in used AI, created to prepare students for careers throughout innovation, consulting, financing, item management, and other knowledge‑intensive fields.
Unveiling the brand-new design, Khan Academy CEO Sal Khan stated each founding company brought something various to the collaboration, with his company specialising in “competency and mastery-based learning”.
TED, on the other hand, will bring the “‘long lasting abilities’ of interaction, partnership and creativity” and checking giant ETS will “leader new kinds of assessment” for the AI world.
The partners are looking for American degree accreditation, with plans to rapidly scale beyond the US.
Rather than learning from a conventional university faculty: “Students will participate in structured group work, live sessions with TED speakers and believed leaders, discussion sessions, and collective jobs”, Sevak explained.
He emphasised there would be “no squandered seat time” and trainees would engage in peer-based tutoring and competency based assessments, with access to AI-enabled knowing assistance.
