The National Universities Commission has granted complete accreditation to 11 scholastic programmes at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, after the commission’s October/November 2025 accreditation exercise.
The upgrade appeared in a statement provided by the university’s Head of Info and Public Relations, Mr Jamilu Magaji, to newsmen on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi. The result was available in a letter dated April 7, 2026; it was signed by the NUC Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary.

Mr Magaji said the accreditation followed the October/November 2025 exercise conducted by the commission. He included that the April 7, 2026 letter conveyed the result to the university in clear terms.
The certified programmes cover both undergraduate and postgraduate research study. Each of the 11 programs received Full accreditation.

Responding to the result, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan-Umar, stated the accreditation declares FUBK’s growing scholastic credibility and its dedication to quality.
He stated:
“This success is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of our scholastic and administrative staff, the support of the University’s Governing Council, and the commitment of our staff and students.
“We stay concentrated on building a strong and reliable university that satisfies global standards.”
