The Joint Admissions and Admission Board, JAMB, has dismissed a flowing press release claiming that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Enlisting Assessment, UTME, has been held off.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Board stated the notice is Fake and cautioned prospects to disregard it.

2026 UTME dates stay the same
JAMB had earlier announced that the main 2026 UTME will hold from Thursday, 16 April, to Saturday, 25 April 2026.
That means the assessment timetable remains unchanged; prospects are expected to keep to the existing schedule released by the Board.
Why JAMB issued the explanation
The clarification came after the 2026 UTME Mock assessment hung on Saturday, 28 March. The mock exercise recorded technical problems at numerous Computer-Based Test, CBT, centres.
A total of 224,597 prospects signed up for the mock assessment. Out of that figure, 152,586 prospects effectively sat for the test across 989 CBT centres nationwide.
JAMB also said over 20 CBT centres connected to the technical problems have been delisted due to technical inadequacies.
Warning over score inflation declares
The Board also alerted prospects against deceitful persons or groups on WhatsApp claiming they can inflate scores.
JAMB described such claims as incorrect and criminal. It included that any candidate found taking part in such acts risks cancellation of registration or withholding of outcomes.
What prospects must note
JAMB’s message is clear. The 2026 UTME has not been postponed, the viral notification did not originate from the Board, and all test activities continue as scheduled.
Candidates are anticipated to neglect false messages and prevent any group or individual appealing score manipulation.
