The Akwa Ibom State Federal government has launched a brand-new fundamental education reform initiative powered by artificial intelligence, targeted at reinforcing literacy and numeracy skills among pupils in public primary schools.
In a statement launched on Thursday, the federal government stated the programme, being implemented in partnership with EIDU and the State Ministry of Education, introduces a technology-driven approach to class mentor and learning.
EIDU, a global organisation concentrated on enhancing learning outcomes, provides a digital platform that supports teachers with structured lesson shipment while providing students personalized and interactive learning experiences based upon their individual progress. The system leverages human-centred AI tools to keep track of performance and recognize discovering spaces in real time.
According to the declaration, the effort will be presented in phases, with the very first stage targeting about 6,000 students throughout 67 schools during the 2025/2026 academic session. It is designed to integrate digital tools into classroom instruction while equipping teachers, school administrators and education supervisors with live data to track development and improve discovering outcomes.

The State Commissioner for Education, Ubong Essien Umoh, stated the program lines up with the government’s ARISE Program, which prioritises improvements in education quality throughout the state.
He noted that the initiative shows the commitment of Governor Umo Bassey Eno to advancing discovering outcomes and modernising the education system.
EIDU currently deals with more than 40 federal governments across four countries, reaching over 790,000 learners through its AI-supported teaching model, which concentrates on building strong fundamental abilities.
Authorities described the programme as a substantial step towards embedding innovation in class learning in Akwa Ibom, supplying both instructors and students with modern-day tools to enhance teaching efficiency and academic efficiency.
